Yoga courses

Spring 2025

Meditative yoga

Mondays 13.1.-24.2.2025

6-7.15 PM

Valmennuskulma, Vallihaudankatu 1 E 411, 20100 Turku

Using traditional hatha yoga exercises, the course prepares you for a quiet, meditative state of mind. In the classes, calmly moving asana kriyas are performed and the asanas, i.e. positions, are held for several breaths. The focus is on the conscious slowing down of breathing and movement and the dialogue between challenge and contentment.

At the end of each class, we do breathing exercises, i.e. pranayama. As the course progresses, you will also be able to practice meditation. Mantras are used as tools in meditation. Sanskrit mantras are also recited at the beginning and end of the class. However, it is your choice whether you want to participate in the recitation of the mantras or just listen.

Previous yoga practice background is useful, but it is not a requirement to participate in the course. The most important thing is that you are interested in meditation and the more internal practices of yoga. The only requirement is that you are capable of a calm, sometimes static practice. The asana practice of the course is physically and mentally challenging despite its slowness (or precisely because of it).

The course is based on Janne Kontala's Slow Yoga method.

The instructor is Anni and there is room for 8 participants.

Price: 143 € / 7 times. (incl. VAT 10 %)

Hatha Yoga (Asanas & Pranayama)

Wednesdays 8.1.-19.2.2025

6.-7.15 PM, online

Online / Zoom

In the course, you can practice classic hatha yoga asanas, sun salutation, or Surya namaskara, as well as conscious breathing and breath control (pranayama). You will also get a small taste of yoga philosophy during the classes.

Asana exercises are strengthening, opening and increasing mobility. The course focuses on the external and internal alignment of the asanas and the correct breathing technique. Each lesson of the course is designed so that the exercise supports calming the mind and relaxing the body. From this starting point, it will be easier for you to settle down to the breathing exercises at the end of the class. Sanskrit mantras are recited at the beginning and end of the class. However, it is your choice whether you want to participate in the mantras or just listen.

Both beginners and those who have practiced yoga for a longer time are welcome. The exercises are shaped according to the level of the participants, but you also get variations if necessary. The course is taught by Anni.

You get a recording of the online classes, which you can use after the class. So if you can't attend one of the sessions, you can do the exercise afterwards by watching the recording. You can use the recordings for one month after the end of the course.

Price: 88 € / 7 times (incl. VAT 10 %)
